Zionsville Schools Swaps Land With Pulte

Zionsville Community Schools is preparing to acquire a parcel located on East 300, which may serve as the location for a new elementary school. The ZCS Board of School Trustees has granted the district permission to commence a land exchange with Pulte Homes of Indiana. Pulte possesses 21 acres near 8245 E. 300 S, Zionsville, which will be transferred to the school district. In return, 33 acres of land owned by ZCS at 5350 S 650 E., Whitestown, will be given to Pulte. Additionally, Pulte will compensate ZCS approximately $620,000 due to the acquisition of a larger parcel. This amount will be allocated to the district’s operations fund, as stated by Matt Doublestein, assistant superintendent of operations. Doublestein mentioned that the school district intends to lease the land for agricultural purposes for the foreseeable future.
