Zionsville Fire Called To Commercial Building Fire
At 1:41 am this morning, the Zionsville Fire Department was dispatched to a commercial building fire in the 100 block of South Main Street in Zionsville. Gene Milner 80 of Greencastle a member of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame and a four-year letterman for the Rossville Hornets basketball team under Hall of Fame coach Phil Buck has passed away. Indiana State Fair Adding Nearly 50 New Food Items This Year
The Indiana State Fair is adding nearly 50 new food items this year. The fair is happening at the Indiana State Fairgrounds August 7th through the 23rd. In addition to the typical fair food, visitors can also try butter-coated ice cream or a burger served on HoneyBuns. INDOT Plans Work At 28 And 65
INDOT announced Monday that, beginning on July 13th, it will begin intermittent flagging that will impact drivers on State Road 28 over I-65. INDOT will close the shoulders of State Road 28 between two sections of County Road 800 West to install new signals at the southbound I-65 ramps. Both lanes of traffic are expected to remain open for most of the project, which should wrap up in November.

Zionsville Town Council To Decide On Development
The Zionsville Town Council continued a rezoning request July 6 by Pulte Homes for 140 acres along 300 S. between 800 and 875 E. The home developer has requested to rezone the property from Rural Single-Family (R1) to Rural Single and Two-Family (R2). The continuance will allow Pulte Homes and the town council to consider further reducing and/or moving some of the lots to ease neighbor concerns. A decision is expected at the town council’s July 20 meeting.

Lane Closures To Impact U.S. 52
The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane closures that will impact U.S. 52 near Lebanon. Beginning on or after Tuesday, July 7, INDOT contractors will close one lane at a time on U.S. 52 over Prairie Creek, located just north of County Road 250 N. The purpose of construction is to waterproof the bridge. Work is anticipated to last through July but is weather-dependent and subject to change.

Lebanon Fire Called to House Fire
At 1:06 this morning fire crews were dispatched to 609 W. Stoltz St in Lebanon on a house fire. First arriving Lebanon Police Department units marked it a working incident with flames showing on the front of the residence. The fire was marked under control in just over 30 minutes. Lebanon Police report an unnamed 17-year-old male is in a juvenile detention facility on charges of intimidation, criminal recklessness and possession of a firearm by a minor. The arrest stems from an argument that happened on July 2 in Lebanon. The alleged victim said that the armed male pulled out a gun during their argument and fired a single round into the air.
