The Frankfort Police Department is honored to announce the 2025 Officer of the Year as Officer Gustavo Garcia. He was selected for his dedication to the City of Frankfort and upholding the mission statement of the Frankfort Police Department. Officer Garcia was a lateral transfer to the department on August 29, 2023. He is a graduate of Frankfort High School. Officer Garcia is currently assigned to Squad B Nights.

Brian “Joey” Boyer, a 44-year-old former band director at Lebanon High School, is going back to prison because he watched pornography. Boyer had pleaded guilty in May 2022 to soliciting a minor for intercourse. He began a four-year sentence, was released in November 2022 to serve the rest on probation and was specifically told not to possess or view pornography. The Indiana Department of Transportation announced $179.8 million in federal grants to 50 cities, towns and counties in rural portions of the state.
