A Tippecanoe County judge and his wife are hospitalized in stable condition after they were shot Sunday afternoon. Steve and Kim Meyer were found with gunshot wounds in a home in the 17-hundred block of Mill Pond Lane in Lafayette around 2 p.m. Indiana Chief Justice Loretta Rush says she has been in contact with the Indiana Supreme Court and has been assured senior judges will cover Tippecanoe Superior Court 2 while Meyer is recovering.

A first-time National Champion has been crowned. The Hoosiers took down the Hurricanes 27-21 in the College Football Playoff title game from Miami. Fernando Mendoza dove for a key rushing touchdown to make it a two-score game in the fourth quarter. Top-ranked Indiana finished a perfect, 16-and-0 on the season. Mark Fletcher Jr. scored twice on the ground for Number-10 Miami, which ended the year 13-and-3.

A new college football national champion will be crowned on Monday. Top-ranked Indiana squares off against Number-10 Miami from the Hurricanes' home turf. The Hoosiers are a perfect, 15-and-0 on the season after securing blowout wins over Alabama and Oregon in the Rose and Peach Bowls. This is Indiana's first title game appearance in program history.
