WMPD host Awards Banquet

On Saturday, WMPD hosted their 2024 Awards Banquet. This night is dedicated to appreciating our members from all divisions for the hard work they put in day in and day out, and to honor them with accolades for their efforts throughout the year.
Officer Cale McCarty received the 2024 Rookie of the Year.
Officer Frank Wolfe III received the 2024 "Big Fish Award" -This award is presented to an officer who made a significant arrest or seizure due to their proactive police activity. Officer Wolfe made a traffic that resulted in an arrest of a methamphetamine dealer, and a seizure of 15 g of methamphetamine.
Officers Drew Holbrook, Daniel Wines, and Detective Gabe Frietzsche received 2024 Life Saving Awards for their quick actions resulting in preservation of life.
Our entire Criminal Investigation Division received the 2024 Outstanding Police Duty Award. This award was the result of their diligent efforts in a shooting that occurred on I-65 in July, that ultimately led to the arrest of the shooter and an accomplice.
Officer Kyle Haskins Received our most prestigious award, 2024 Officer of the Year.
