The town of Whitestown announces Smoke testing of the sanitary sewer system in the Legacy Core area is scheduled to begin on November 19, weather permitting. The testing process is expected to take 1–3 days, depending on the number of leaks identified.
During this testing, non-toxic, water-based smoke will be blown into the sanitary sewer system to help identify any leaks. This work is being conducted at the request of IDEM (Indiana Department of Environmental Management) to help locate sources of high inflow and infiltration in the downtown area.
