Voters Go To The Polls On Tuesday

Tuesday voters went to the polls here are the results of contested races in Boone County. Zionsville Town Council President Jason Plunkett bested incumbent Tim Beyer for his District 1 Commissioner seat. Plunkett will run against uncontested Democratic candidate Bob Brennan in November. County Council member Aaron Williams lost to Craig Melton.
Incumbent Center Township Trustee Casey Samson lost by eight votes to Lebanon Clerk Treasurer Tonya Thayer. Clerk Lisa Bruder, Assessor Jennifer Lasley and County Council District 3 candidate Kevin Van Horn were also winners last night. In the County Council District 2 race Gretchen Smith defeated John Hume.
According to the Clerk’s Office, 17.87% of voters participated in this year’s Primary.
From Clinton County, In the race for Clinton County Sheriff Brendon E. Bright with 59 percent of the vote defeated Jacob (Jake) Myers 35 percent and Ashley Kelly with 4 percent. Ashley Kelly’s Husband Sheriff Rich Kelly was defeated by Jordan Brewer for the county commissioner’s seat 85 to 14 percent. Clinton County Council, District 3 Joseph L Mink with 53.9% of the vote defeated Patrick Conner who finished with 46.1% of the vote. In the race for Judge of The Clinton Superior Court Thomas F. Little finished with 55.3% of the vote besting Shawn Rountree with 44.7% of the vote.
