Thorntown "Colored Cemetery" Receives Grant

   The Thorntown "Colored Cemetery" Memorial Project has been awarded a $6,000 grant from Indiana Landmarks Black Heritage Preservation Program!  This grant will allow The Thorntown Heritage Museum to fund the monument construction at the cemetery. This stone monument will list the names of those buried in the cemetery and will be accompanied by a QR code that will help visitors and researchers easily access the history of the cemetery and the Sugar Creek Community.
