Writer: Scott Carney Scott Carney

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation is applying for $122 million from the State Budget Committee to buy land in Boone County. The money is reportedly to bring a $50 billion semiconductor plant to the Hoosier state. The IEDC would be used to purchase about 1,000 acres of land near the LEAP District.  It is also reported that the IEDC will also be asking for another $16 million to support a data center project heading to Boone County. That project is worth an estimated $3.2 billion dollars.
