Mr. Richard Stump, 75, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at his home. He was born June 20, 1951, in Indianapolis, a son of the late Omer Willis and Charlotte Marie (Powell) Stump. On April 3, 2008, Richard married Lori Quesnel, and she survives.
Richard worked as a clerk at Kroger for many years. He found great joy in the outdoors and especially enjoyed hiking and taking long walks. A devoted fan of The Andy Griffith Show, Richard appreciated its timeless humor and simple values.
Gifted with a creative spirit, Richard enjoyed woodworking and built several birdhouses, a dollhouse, and handcrafted Christmas trees. He also loved playing the drums and had a special place in his heart for dogs. His faithful companions, Buddy and Sweetie, were more than pets—they were his walking partners and loyal friends.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Stump of Lebanon; daughter, Amber (Patrick) Cage of Kokomo; sons, Arron (Morgan) Stump of Kokomo, John Colwell, and Jeff Colwell; bonus children, Ryan (Kristen) Rule of Lebanon, Rebecca Rule of Indianapolis, and Alyssa Rule of Lebanon; brother, Charles Stump; grandchildren, Royce and Jagger Cage, and Bailee, Brady (Alia), Berklee, Brylee, and Bentley Stump; great-grandson, Leelin Stump; bonus grandchildren, Isaac Rule, Emilia Vasquez, Charlotte, Brayden, and Katelynn Rule, and Brady, Ian, and Carson Schreckengost; and one bonus great-grandchild, Camdyn Dean.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Hine; brothers, Ronnie and Dennis Stump; and sisters, Charlene Sanders, Shirley Whittmore, and Gail Colwell and her son, Joey Colwell.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, July 21, for visitation from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
