Lois Jones

Lois Jones, 91, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Restoracy of Whitestown. She was born September 4, 1934, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Ollie and Thelma (Payne) Livingston. Lois was married to Robert Earl Jones, Sr. on November 14, 1952 and he preceded her in death February 9, 2021.

Lois graduated from Lebanon High School with the class of 1952. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Lebanon Community School Corporation for many years. Lois enjoyed fishing, along with dancing and singing, especially to “Mony Mony.”

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Jones (Ronny Norman); sisters, Barbara Quick and Mary Essex; daughter-in-law, Melody Jones; grandchildren, Adam Zell, Steven (Lauren) Davis, Tracy (Elisha) Davis, Austin (Kacie) Britt, Shane (Amy) Britt, Jake Myers, and Jeremy Wallsmith; and great grandchildren, McKenzie, Arabella, Caleb, Paxton, and Trey Davis, Aiden and Addison Zell, Grayson Davis, Kendall and Ethan, Lexy (Jon) Buis, Brooks Britt, Briana, Ella, and Grace Myers, and Zachary, Isabella, and Jakob Wallsmith. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by her children, Robert “Bobby” Jones, Barbara Lindstrom, and Marcia Jones (Ron Britt); brother, Robert Livingston; sisters, Joyce (Joe) Somers and Joan Myers; brothers-in-law, Buren Quick, Jr. and William Essex; and grandchildren, Jacob Zell and Bobby Jones III.

Family and friends will gather Tuesday, March 31, for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Lois will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
