Lee M. Emmons, 73, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born June 3, 1952, the son of the late Frederick J. and Mary Katherine (Brunker) Emmons.
On August 18, 1971, he was united in marriage to Donna K. (Wingate) Emmons in Dover Indiana.
Lee was a 1970 graduate of Thorntown High School. He honorably served his country with the United States Army from 1971-73 with a year tour in Vietnam. For many years, Lee owned and operated a machine shop in Mechanicsburg and later drove for the Boone County Highway Department, where he retired at 62. He was a proud and longtime member of the VFW and American Legion.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Lee was a man of varied tastes from science fiction to Hallmark movies. He enjoyed dreaming of piloting his own Star Ship Destroyer and captaining his own yacht. He loved family euchre nights, and his sense of humor aided him in winning many games of Quiplash. Lee loved music and could play the saxophone, clarinet, flute and percussion in a pinch. He could be found having target practice in the backyard while composing song parodies on the topic of meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
Survivors include his wife, Donna K. Emmons of Lebanon; daughters, Elizabeth (Joshua) Miller of Lebanon and Michal (Jonathon) Pfettscher of Howard, Ohio; grandchildren, Junia Grace Pfettscher and Noah Thomas Pfettscher; and cats, Cookie and Nutmeg.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his son, Thomas and sister, Karole Hunley.
