Whitney E. Coons

Whitney E. Coons was born in Frankfort, IN. on May 4, 1978.She was the daughter of R. Bruce and Karen (Coleman) Coons. 

Her father passed away when she was two years old and she was raised by her mother and step-father, David C. Richards.

She graduated from Lebanon Senior High School in 1997, attended the University of Southern Indiana and graduated from Indiana Business College in 2002 with an Associated Degree in Business. She employed by IU Med Center and various insurance related call centers. She enjoyed crafting and painting.

In 2017 she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and fought the disease until she lost the battle May 13, 2026.

She was preceded in death by both of her fathers and grandparents E.J. and Marjorie Coleman and Dr. Robert N. Coons and Norma Jean Coons.

She is survived by her mother Karen Coons Richards, uncle Garth (Cheryl) Coons, cousin Mary Beth (Jerry) Rolfson and several other cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 30 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Ms. Coons will be laid to rest in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
