Larry Lee Peetz, 85, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at his home in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born September 13, 1939, in Lebanon; a son of the late Donald Christian and Martha June (Staton) Peetz.
On January 25, 1963, he married Marcella C. (Jones) Peetz in Whitestown, Indiana. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2015.
Larry graduated from Perry Central High School. He dedicated his life to farming, from tending to animals to planting and harvesting. Right out of high school, he began working for Hine and Webber while working on his family farm.
He enjoyed drag racing and raced at the 1st U.S. Nationals. Larry was one of the first members of the NTPA, and a longtime member of the HSTPA Pullers, as well as one of the founders of (IPI) Indiana Puller Incorporated that put on the Indy Super Pull. He had a deep seeded love for tractor pulling from the beginning that he passed down to his children and grandchildren. He loved going fishing whenever he got a chance and was an avid snowmobiler. Above all, Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother who loved spending time with his family. He will be missed immensely.
Survivors include children, Kelly J. (Vanessa) Peetz of Cross Hill, South Carolina, Lee Peetz of Stilesville, Indiana, and Shawn (April) Peetz of Troy, Illinois; grandchildren, Dustin (Laci) Peetz, Devan Peetz, Alexander Peetz, and Nicole Peetz; great grandchildren, Rylee and Rynnlee; brother, Charles (Linda) Peetz of Lebanon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Interment will be held at Mts. Runn Cemetery in Zionsville, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
