Joseph Hamilton

Joseph Hamilton, 51, passed away Thursday evening on January 9, 2025, at his home in Ladoga, Indiana. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 2, 1973, a son of the late Martha J. (Brookshire) Smith.

On July 30, 2016, he married Shawn Marie (Stambaugh) Strong Hamilton in Ladoga; she survives.

Joe attended schools in Indiana. He worked as a flooring mechanic for Les Hawkins Installation in Jamestown and most recently at All Around Renovation in Ladoga.

Having had a passion for fishing, Joe was a member of the New Ross Conservation Club. He was an Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR fan, particularly Jeff Gordon. Joe was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who loved his family and enjoyed spending time together.

Survivors include his wife, Shawn; three daughters, Katie Hamilton, Emily Hamilton, and Trinity Hamilton; stepchildren, Janice (Chris) Peart, Holly (John) Rogers, and Jesse Strong; six grandchildren, Kristan, Lindsey, Lilly, Scarletta, Maddison, and Ace; brothers, Michael (Kim) Smith and Wayne Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Hamilton.

No services are planned at this time. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
