Mr. John Everett Farris, 87, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born October 19, 1938, in Boone County, a son of the late Dorman Robert and Mary Josephine (Vanausdall) Farris. John married Judy Tolley in 1962.
Following high school, John proudly served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. He worked for Citizens Gas as a welder for many years before retiring from the company.
John had a lifelong appreciation for motorcycles and cars, especially his Harley and Lincoln. Above all, however, John was devoted to his family. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he loved spending time with them.
John was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
Survivors include his loving wife, Judy Farris of Lebanon; daughters, Johnna (Scott) Kelly and Brooke (Gregg) Naberhaus; son, Chad (Heather) Farris; grandchildren, Alexa, Erin, Luke, Taylor, Cooper, Irelynd, Ava, Sophia, Audrey, Sophie, and Braden; great-grandchildren, Leni, Bond, Scheyer, and Stetson; and brothers, George (Dixie) Farris and David Farris.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, James Farris; and sisters, Edna Richardson, Norma Stricklin, and Eva (Jim) Edwards.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, September 12, for a celebration of life from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the American Legion Post 113, 1020 Hendricks Drive, Lebanon, Indiana 46052.
