James L. Bolen, 72, of Thorntown, passed away Monday, October 20, 2025, at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born July 22, 1953, a son of the late James Walter and Mary Ann (Lundy) Bolen.
Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge. He loved riding his motorcycle with all of his friends and several different clubs.
Survivors include his sons, Jimmy (Cassidy) Bolen of Lebanon and Mathew (Kaylee) Bolen of Thorntown; grandchildren, Cody Bolen, Matalyn Biddle, Enlee Bolen, and Tristan Bolen; his favorite sister, Nadine Moore of Lebanon; and sisters, Peggy (Gene) Poe of Thorntown, Pam (Gary) Dickerson of Thorntown, and Nanette (Jay) Perrault of Thorntown.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, John M. Bolen and Thomas E. Bolen.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, November 1, for visitation from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Jim will be laid to rest at Bethel Hill Cemetery in Thorntown.
