Steven Schmidt

Steven Schmidt, 71, of Lebanon, passed away December 26, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. He was born November 19, 1954, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, a son of the late Willard and Rachel (Hubbard) Schmidt. Steven married Elaine Smith, and she preceded him in death in 1997.

Steven graduated from high school in Sandwich, Illinois. He worked for Architectural Walls Inc., where he was a foreman and carpenter. Steven enjoyed riding his motorcycle and had ridden to 46 states, and also enjoyed fishing and reading, especially on rainy days to educate himself. 

Survivors include his son, Phillip Schmidt of Lebanon; daughters, November (Mike) McClure of Crawfordsville and August (Bryan) Caldwell of Indianapolis; sisters, Gloria Gavalier of Fort Wayne and Nancy (John) Fjortoft of Chicago, IL; his better half and significant other, Sue Ok of Lebanon; and grandchildren, Casey McClure, Remi McClure, Rayna Schmidt and Colson Schmidt.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army of Boone County.
