Gloria Jean Fajfer, 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Sugar Grove Senior Living in Plainfield, Indiana. She was born on August 27, 1940, in Indianapolis; a daughter of the late Glen and Mary Catherine (Geralds) Gosnell.
Her family relocated to Chicago when she was four. Gloria graduated from Kelly High School and honorably served in the United States Army.
On May 13, 1959, she married Leonard William Fajfer in Chicago. They shared 51 loving years together before he passed away on March 30, 2011.
Gloria worked at Witham Memorial Hospital for ten years, Danners 3D in Lebanon for three years, and Perkins Specialized Transportation in Indianapolis for nineteen years. She retired in 2004 to care for her husband, Leonard.
She enjoyed photography, genealogy, bowling, gardening, and sewing. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Lynn Marie (Michael) Bellah, Leonard W. “Bill” (Tammy) Fajfer, Jr., Joseph L. (Patricia) Fajfer, and Cathryn A. (Greg) Ulrey; grandchildren, Amber (Joshua) Maze, Corey Fajfer, Shaun Fajfer, Matthew Fajfer, Trevor Ulrey, Gavin Ulrey, and Jennifer Bellah; great grandchildren, Willow Maze, Mason Dale, and Orion Bellah; brother, Billie (Lynn) Gosnell; and sister, Margaret Susan (Tom) Smith.
In addition to her parents and husband, Gloria was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Geralds.
Funeral Services with Military Rites are planned for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 681405, Indianapolis, Indiana 46268-1405 or to Disabled American Veterans, 575 North Pennsylvania Street, Room 324, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
