Emma Louise Walker

Emma Louise Walker passed away on April 24, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on June 27, 1955, to Sylvester and Emma Wichlacz (née Nowicki) in Bremen, Indiana. She spent the vast majority of her life in Indiana, where she built a family and contributed to her community in small ways.



She is survived by husband of 48 years, Louis E. Walker, Jr., her daughters, Carmen Grubbs (Ray), Carrie Miles (Scott), Lois Worley (Eric), and Charlotte Walker (Brent Kievit-Kylar), as well as her stepson, Steven Walker (Alisha). She cherished being a grandmother and had over 25 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, James Wichlacz (Christine), and was preceded in death by her loving parents and her beloved sister, Carol Kissinger.



Emma had a love for arts and crafts, especially knitting, crocheting, and scrapbooking. She found joy in creating handmade pieces and often shared them with those around her. A member of Advance Community Christian Church, she also participated in Boone County Senior Services, where she made connections and enjoyed social activities. She traveled on several mission trips, where she extended kindness to others in her own quiet way. Emma held a variety of food service roles throughout her life, working in nursing homes, grocery delis, and schools. She was a lifelong Notre Dame fan and enjoyed going to the James Dean Festival and Car Show each year. She was the proud owner of a 1955 Chevy Bel Air.



A celebration of life will be held on June 21, 2025, at Advance Community Christian Church, 305 Main St, Advance, Indiana 46102. A brief service will begin at 1:00pm with fellowship and refreshments from 1:30pm - 3:00pm. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.



In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boone County Cancer Society, Boone County Senior Services, or to Advance Community Christian Church in her memory.
