Marilyn K. Hester

Marilyn K. Hester, 83, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026, at Hoosier Village Retirement Community.

Born on February 5, 1943, Marilyn was the daughter of Russell and Anna Ruth Daugherty, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harold Daugherty, and her sister, Diana.

On May 5, 1962, Marilyn married the love of her life, James A. Hester, in Lafayette, Indiana. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, friendship, and service. After their marriage, they lived briefly in Lafayette before settling in Lebanon in 1963, where they raised their two sons.

Marilyn is survived by her devoted husband of more than 64 years, James A. Hester; her sons, Tim Hester and his wife, Andrea, and Jeff Hester and his wife, Terri. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Megan & Carrie Twyman, James “Drew” & Hayley Hester, Abigail Blakeman and her husband, Christopher, and Aspen Hester. She was also blessed to be a great-grandmother to Isaac Hester, Theo Twyman, Lincoln Twyman, and Sam Hester. In addition to her immediate family, Marilyn is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather Monday, June 29, for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. in the Hoosier Village Chapel.
