Eleanor R. Hinton

Eleanor R. Hinton, 93, of Lebanon, died Friday, January 30, at the St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel. She was born August 7, 1932 in Lebanon to the late Robert and Virginia (Meadows) Hart. She graduated from the Lebanon High School and married Charles Schooler; he died in 1960, her second husband, James Hinton, died in 1995.

Eleanor worked in the insurance industry for many years. She was an active and longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Lebanon where she served in many different roles. She enjoyed playing BINGO and helping others any way she could.

She is survived by her son, Rob Hinton, of Lebanon, daughter-in-law, Robin Schooler, of New Hudson, Michigan, step children, Debbie Wilhoite of Lebanon, Steve (Pam) Hinton of Lebanon and Jamie (Tony) Moore; grandchildren, Chaz Schooler of Chicago, Lauren Schooler of New Hudson, Michigan and Katherine (Conor) Eckler.  She was preceded in death by her son, Chuck Schooler.

Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, February 4 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor David Wright officiating in the Strawmyer and Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church, 1383 E 75 N, Lebanon, Indiana 46052.
