Dorothy Jean Snapp

Dorothy Jean Snapp, 97, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at her home in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born on October 27, 1927, in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Wayne and Ruth M. (Brugman) Dayhoff.



On July 29, 1945, she married Emons Lee Snapp in Lyons, Indiana. They shared 53 loving years together before he passed away on March 11, 1999.



Jean graduated from Switz City High School in Greene County, Indiana in 1945. She attended Indiana Business College in Indianapolis and later earned her certification from Whitestown Metropolitan Beauty Academy in 1975.



She worked as a beautician for a couple of years before beginning a 15-year career as a customer service representative with Citizens Gas and Coke Utility in Indianapolis, where she retired in 1993.



Jean was a member of First Baptist Church and the James Hill Chapter D.A.R. in Lebanon, as well as the Order of Eastern Star in Lyons. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and spending time with her family.



Survivors include her three daughters, Sherry Snapp of Fayette, Donna Moore of Lebanon, and Elaine (Rick) Dearduff of Lebanon; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.



In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Dayhoff and sister Margaret (Paul) Slauter.



Funeral Services are planned for 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
