Donald Keith Martin

Mr. Donald Keith Martin, 90, of Thorntown, passed away Friday, September 25, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Don was born January 10, 1936, in Thorntown, a son of the late Charles Arthur and Helen (Delaney) Martin. He met Kathryn J. “Joyce” (Smothermon) in 1959, and they were married on February 19, 1960, in Indianapolis. Joyce preceded him in death on March 26, 2021. They shared 61 years of marriage.

Don worked as an HVAC technician, first as a subcontractor and later with ARS. He was proud to have served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. A hardworking and hands-on man, Don enjoyed working with his tools, especially his pipe wrenches. Above all, his family was most important to him. He deeply loved his wife, sons, and grandchildren and cherished the time they shared together.

Survivors include his sons, Brian Wesley (Heather) Martin of Thorntown, Gregory Allen Martin of Lebanon, and Robbie Joe Martin of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law, Darla Wright of Colfax; grandchildren, Tanya Lynn (Jason) McClain, Gregory Michael Martin, Shelly Darlene (AJ) Brose, Ashley Nicole, Brandy (Jeremy) Snoke, Alexis Vail Walker, Kandis Martin, and Wesley Keith Martin; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold Martin and William (Norma Jean) Martin; sister-in-law, Janice Martin; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Don was preceded in death by his sons, Anthony Wayne “Tony” Martin and Ricky Keith Martin; brother, Jesse Martin; sisters, Ilene Rampey and Joann Guthrie; and sister-in-law, Jane Martin.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, October 3, for visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Don will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
