Dixie Dee Taylor, 74, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025, at her sister’s home, in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born October 6, 1951, in Lebanon, the oldest daughter of the late Darnell and Betty Lou (Miller) Walker.
Dixie graduated from Lebanon High School in 1970. Following high school, she attended McConnell Airline School in Minneapolis, MN; then, Broward Community College in FL.
On December 9, 1972, she was united in marriage to Jack Taylor at the First United Church of Christ in Lebanon. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2005.
Dixie and her husband lived in Hollywood, Florida, where she was employed in Human Resources at Qualex, Inc. from 1973 to 1995. Upon returning to Lebanon, she worked in medical billing for American Health Network in Zionsville. She, also, enjoyed working at the Lebanon Public Library, in the genealogy department, until her illness prevented that.
Dixie was committed to her family and was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, all kinds of animals, and making hats for newborn babies at Witham Memorial Hospital. She volunteered at the Humane Society for Boone County, the Boone County Toy Drive and various Lebanon Christian Church ministries.
Survivors include her daughter, Dani Jo (Steven) Meyers of Lebanon; grandchildren, Kevin T. Blaire (Nikky Probst) and Theo J. Meyers; brothers, Danny L. (Carol) Walker of Liberty, Missouri and David W. Walker (Sharyn Simpson) of Monticello; and sisters, Susan D. (Marc) Lehmann and Dawn Walker (Bill McPherson), all of Lebanon.
Dixie is preceded, in death by her parents, a beautiful angel granddaughter (Zara Rose) and a beautiful angel nephew (Danny Wayne).
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Lebanon Christian Church, 610 West 250 North, in Lebanon, Indiana. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her care.
