Mr. David Taylor, 75, of Whitestown, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. He was born Oct. 29, 1947, in Lebanon, a son of the late Clarence and Marilyn (Downs) Taylor. David married Connie Maxwell on March 25, 1966, and she survives. David graduated from Lebanon High School. He began his career as a machine grinder at WABCO and continued to work in fabrication for FMC/ Linkbelt/ PTC, IMMI, ATP Welding, and retired from Fed-Ex. David enjoyed drag racing, golfing, camping, playing pool, and fishing. He loved his grandchildren and would often say, “If I would have known grandkids would be so much fun, I would have had them first.” Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Connie Taylor of Whitestown; daughters, Lisa Posey of Lebanon and Lori (Doug) Rapp of Colfax; brothers, Mike (Lisa) Taylor and Steve (Natalie) Taylor; sisters-in-law, Cindy Taylor and Lara Taylor; grandchildren, David (Stephanie) Venis, Britleigh (Robert) Berry, Dillon (girlfriend, Allison Proffitt) Rapp, and Casey (girlfriend, Alyssa Smith) Posey; great granddaughter, Marleigh Kay and Chosen Grandson, Terry Ray Taylor. David was preceded in death his brothers, Ron and Rick; sisters, Janice and Brenda; and son-in-law, Rick Posey. Family and friends will gather Thursday, Aug. 24, for visitation from 4 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon.
