Clinton County Sheriff Investigates Fatality Accident

On April 9, 2025, at approximately 12:56 p.m., Deputies with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle crash in the area of 2370 Washington Avenue.

The preliminary investigation suggests that a Silver 2002 Honda Odyssey minivan, operated by Lindsey Mornout, 44, of Frankfort, was traveling westbound on Washington Avenue when, for an unknown reason, left the roadway to the north. The vehicle entered the ditch, striking a sign and became airborne after hitting the embankment. The vehicle came to rest after striking a tree.

Frankfort Police and Clinton County EMS attempted lifesaving measures. Despite their efforts, Mornout was pronounced deceased at the scene. This crash remains under investigation.
