Boone County has kicked off a festive new tradition with the Boone County Government Christmas Wreath Contest, running now through Thursday, December 12. The friendly competition features seven hand-crafted wreaths created by various local government agencies, all displayed for public viewing and voting. Visitors can cast their votes via Venmo or with cash, with every dollar counting as one vote. The agency whose wreath receives the most votes will earn bragging rights—and a pizza or donut party donated by Boone County Clerk Lisa Bruder, who organized the contest. All funds raised through voting will directly support the Boone County “Shop with a Cop” program. After the contest concludes, all wreaths will be raffled off, with raffle proceeds benefiting the Child Advocacy Center
