On Tuesday, October 28, and Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office coordinated a two-day Sex and Violent Offender Registry (SVOR) Compliance Sweep in partnership with Indiana State Parole, Boone County Probation, and Boone County Community Corrections.
This collaborative operation was organized to allow all four entities to efficiently complete routine compliance checks of individuals registered on the SVOR who are currently under supervision by Parole, Probation, or Community Corrections. While not all individuals on the registry are under supervision, Boone County currently has 85 registered offenders, with approximately 36 being monitored by one of these agencies.
The purpose of the sweep was to ensure that those under supervision are in full compliance with registration requirements and the conditions of their release or sentence. Officers and agents conducted home visits, verified residency, and reviewed documentation to promote continued accountability and community safety.
In summary, the operation resulted in:
· 75 of 85 offenders verified
· 2 arrests
· 7 additional investigations initiated
· Electronics seized (from 12 homes): trail cameras, camcorders, gaming systems, SD cards, flash drives, computers, iPads, and laptops
Christopher LaGrange, 38, of Zionsville, was arrested and transported to the Boone County Jail for possession of child sexual abuse material. LaGrange has been required to register as a sex offender since January 2025 as a result of an offense in 2023. The Boone County Child Abuse and Sexual Exploitation (C.A.S.E.) Task Force is investigating the new offense.
Brian Jones, 54, of Lebanon—who has also used the last names Atwell and Kurtz—was arrested on a parole violation on October 30, 2025, following the operation. Jones was transported to the Boone County Jail by Indiana State Parole. He has been required to register as a sexually violent predator since 2003.
“Our Investigations Division and Deputies are dedicated to working in tandem with our law enforcement partners in this vital mission. Ensuring the safety of children is a top priority for the Sheriff’s Office. We continue to track these predators down to bring them to justice, and we will utilize every resource necessary in order to accomplish this task,” said Sheriff Harris.
