Bertie Lee Spencer Jr.

Bertie Lee Spencer Jr., 59 of Colfax, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. He was born on October 22, 1966, in Lebanon; a son of the late Bertie Spencer and Clara L. (Farris) Philbeck.

He loved riding his moped, fishing, cooking, and playing the lottery. Above all Bertie enjoyed spending time with his loving family and his beloved dog, Baby.

Survivors include his daughters, Stephanie Spencer, Stacia Pantoja-Rodriguez, and Brittany West; eight grandchildren; sisters, Crystal (Bruce) Evans, Patricia Owens, Terry Lee, Dede (Mike) Bishop, and Teresa (Matt) Bowen; and brothers, John “Jay” Spencer, Pepe Flores, and Junior Flores.

In addition to his parents, Bertie was preceded in death by his brother, Richard A. Spencer; sister in infancy, Selena B. Spencer; stepfather, John O. Philbeck; and stepmother, Connie Spencer.

Funeral Services are planned for Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.
