It is with deep sadness that the family of Ann Cole, Lebanon, Indiana, announces her passing following a three-year battle with a rare abdominal mass.
Ann was born on July 12, 1955, to the late Robert Neal and Marjorie Roberta (Rutledge) Vickrey; Ann was the youngest of three children. Surviving siblings, Linda Vickrey Randle (Gerald) and Joe Vickrey (Ladonna).
Ann devoted 50 years of her life to healthcare. After graduating from Ivy Tech studying Radiology Technology, she started her healthcare career at St. Vincent Hospital. She expanded her roles to Radiology Program Director and an Imaging Department Director at both St Vincent and Witham Hospitals. These positions would require her unwavering allegiance and thirst for knowledge in healthcare improvement; therefore, she pursued her BS, MHA, and DHA. Serving others felt like a calling to her and her expanding awareness for much needed healthcare improvements. She was recruited by GE Healthcare for education, patient safety, and improving informed healthcare decision making. She retired from GE Healthcare in 2020.
Ann’s passion away from work included supporting and serving on various groups at her local church (Central Christian Church) and volunteering as a project leader for the Boone County 4-H program for Cats, Forestry, Geology, & Wildlife.
The most cherished parts of her life included being the proud mother of Erika Ann (Cole) Fowler, grandmother to her three grandchildren, Phynix - 18, Asher - 8, and Fox - 5, and devoted wife to Eric Gordon Drumwright since October 14, 2006.
She and Eric enjoyed being the owners of two Mazda Miata sports cars. They loved driving on trips to visit wineries and see lighthouses. They also enjoyed driving to road rallies with other members of the Indy Miata Club. Other hobbies included promoting youth education in environmental sciences, advocating for the underprivileged. She was an award-winning amateur wine maker from Purdue and loved cheering on a variety of sports teams, specifically the Indianapolis Colts.
A celebration of life service will be held on October 11, 2025, at 11:00 am at Central Christian Church, 311 E. Main Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her cremation.
In lieu of flowers & donations, the family requests donations be made to Central Christian Church or to the Parkinson Awareness Association of Central Indiana, Inc., P.O. Box 19575, Indianapolis, Indiana 46219.
