Alice Marie Hankins, 85, of Jamestown, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Brownsburg Meadows. She was born on November 15, 1939, in Crawfordsville, a daughter of the late Lockard and Martha E. (Graves) Hankins.
Alice graduated from Granville Wells in 1957. She was employed at Herff Jones in Indianapolis, Cerro Copper in New Ross, and Alcoa in Crawfordsville. After retiring she worked in the food service for Western Boone Schools.
She attended United Methodist Church in Jamestown. Alice enjoyed cooking, volunteering at community events, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Robyn L. (James) Pedigo of Jamestown; granddaughters, Kelsee B. Hankins of Indianapolis and Jamala Beer of Indianapolis; and brother, Alan J. Hankins of Brownsburg.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her infant brother, Robert L. Hankins.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Old Union Church, 5681 South 500 West, in Jamestown, Indiana. Brian Lough will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation will follow services. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in her memory to the Old Union Church Women’s Fellowship and/or to Granville Wells Elementary School, via Western Boone Education Foundation, PO Box 111, Thorntown, IN 46071.
