2025 CSF Teacher of the Year

Elizabeth Claxton has been selected as Frankfort Community Schools Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Claxton has been a beloved teacher at Suncrest Elementary School for 9 years, pouring her heart into every student she's taught: kindergarteners, 2nd graders, and now 4th graders! Whether her kids are “camping under the stars,” exploring the rainforest, or hatching baby chicks, learning with her is something that her students never forget. If you've been through Suncrest's pickup line, you’ve probably seen her outside, too - calling the car riders with a smile, no matter the weather! Rain, snow, or sunshine, she is there with a smile to help our students get home safely.

Outside of her classroom, Mrs. Claxton is just as dedicated. For the past 18 years, she’s volunteered at a local haunted house fundraiser, helping raise money for a nonprofit that supports families in need. She's also written several grants, bringing in resources for field trips, surprise visits from Boomer, and other experiences that benefit our Suncrest students. We are so lucky to have her!
