Wilma Kay Mantooth, 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Hooverwood Living in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born in Lebanon on February 11, 1946; a daughter of the late Ralph L. and Ella (Riley) Meek.
She graduated from Lebanon Senior High School in 1964.
On July 1, 1966, she married Rex Jarrel Mantooth in Mechanicsburg, IN. Rex preceded her in death on March 6, 2007.
Wilma was a dedicated employee of Pearson Education, eventually retiring as an administrative assistant after a decades long career.
She was a member of Lebanon Fraternal Order of Eagles and Beta Sigma Phi International, Iota Rho Chapter. Wilma was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing the piano, spending time with her family and friends, and baking.
In addition to her parents and husband, Wilma was preceded in death by her son, Ty J. Mantooth; brothers, Steven and Maurice Meek and sisters, Rosella E. “Rosie” (Gene) Johnson and Roberta I. (Jay) Martin.
Wilma is survived by her grandsons, Korey (Emily) Madison of Westfield, and Justin Cope of Lebanon, and many loving distant relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.
Memorial services are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Indiana Chapter, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240-1554.
