At their April meeting, the Whitestown Town Council adopted proclamations declaring the month of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and Autism Awareness Month in Whitestown, Indiana. Organizations like Prevent Child Abuse Boone County are dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect and making a safer, better place for children. Anyone who suspects a child has been neglected or abused should call the Indiana Department of Child Services at 1-800-800-5556. Autism affects more than 80 million people worldwide. The Town Council encourages citizens to learn more about autism and what they can do to support individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.
