Whitestown Police Assist In Multi-Agency Investigation

Tuesday evening, officers with the Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department assisted the Muncie Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation as part of an ongoing investigation. During the investigation, law enforcement officials identified a family member of the suspect residing at the Meadows on Main apartment complex in Whitestown. Officers responding to the area quickly determined the suspect was inside that residence.

As officers attempted to make contact, the suspect barricaded themself inside the apartment. Due to the evolving circumstances, the Boone County Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the scene, alongside FBI negotiators and SWAT personnel from multiple law enforcement agencies.

Following extensive negotiation efforts, tactical personnel safely breached the apartment and successfully took the suspect into custody without further incident. The operation concluded peacefully, with no injuries reported to law enforcement personnel or members of the public.
