The City Of Frankfort Invites Submissions For Hometown Heroes Signs

The City of Frankfort is inviting community members and local families to honor military service members through the Hometown Heroes Veterans Signs display at Veterans Park.

Signs are $20 each, and local families are welcomed to purchase a sign to recognize their Veteran, whether currently serving, retired, or in memory of those who have passed. Each sign displays the veteran’s name, branch of service, and dedicated details acknowledging their service and commitment to our nation.

"Our veterans have made incredible sacrifices for our community and nation," said Mayor Judy Sheets. "This program provides a wonderful opportunity for our entire community to come together, reflect, and thank all the members of the Armed Forces who have sacrificed so much for our freedom."

To ensure signs are printed, processed, and installed in time for Veterans Day observances, all completed order forms and the $20 payment must be received by Friday, October 16, 2026. Submitting forms and payment by this deadline guarantees that signs will be installed in Veterans Park by November 1, 2026.

Businesses, organizations, or individuals interested in sponsoring the Hometown Heroes program are also encouraged to get involved. Anyone interested in sponsorship opportunities can contact Kimberly Black at kblack@frankfort-in.gov for more information.

Order forms can be picked up and submitted with payment at Old Stoney – Community Development Office or downloaded online at https://frankfort-in.gov/egov/documents/1790086421_46613.pdf.
