Sheriff's Deputies Investigate Collision

On January 24, 2026, at approximately 11:34 a.m., Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of State Road 75 and State Road 47 in Thorntown, IN.

The collision involved a 2014 white Honda CR-V driven by Derek Crews, 43, of West Lafayette and a 2011 gray Ford F-150 driven by Brian Bell, 44, of Crawfordsville. Donita Bell, 43, of Crawfordsville was a passenger in the Ford F-150.

All occupants involved in the collision sustained serious bodily injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Due to the nature of the injuries and circumstances surrounding the crash, the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (FACT) was contacted to assist with the investigation.
