Ronald L. Abraham, age 87, passed away on December 16, 2025, at his home in Florida.
Ronald was born on September 25, 1938, in Richmond, Indiana, to the Rev. Paul and Gleda Abraham. He attended trade school and then became a journeyman at GM Allison Transmission. Ronald was employed with Allison Transmission, retiring in 1995.
Ronald was a hardworking man who was deeply dedicated to his family and his church. He married his childhood sweetheart, Naomi Louks, on June 1, 1957. They shared 64 years of marriage until her passing on November 27, 2021.
Ronald found his spiritual home at Eastlawn Wesleyan Church for many years, where he faithfully served as a board member, led maintenance efforts, and ran the sound system for worship services and special events. He also operated the sound system at Frankfort Church Camp for many years. Most recently, Ronald was an active member of Hope Community Church in Lebanon, Indiana. Throughout his life, he remained a devoted and active church member, always willing to serve in any capacity needed.
Ronald dearly loved his family and friends and enjoyed conversation and laughter over a good meal or dessert. He was especially known for whipping up homemade ice cream whenever he could share it with those he loved. He was widely regarded as the “go-to-guy” for any job. A perfectionist in all he did, Ronald was highly skilled in automotive work, carpentry, electrical projects, and home repairs. Ronald loved spending his winters in Florida with his family and friends at the Orange Blossom Retirement Park, where he worked daily as a maintenance man for 30 years. Ronald had a true servant’s heart and was willing to help anyone in need at any time of day or night.
Ronald will be lovingly remembered by his children, Debora (Keith) Lyon, Darla Abraham, and Dale (Timi) Abraham; his sister, Roberta (Abraham) Harrison; his brothers, Roger (Lily May) Abraham and Roderick Abraham; and his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi (Louks) Abraham, his parents, Paul and Gleda Abraham; his sister, Rita; his brother, Richard; and his son, David.
Family and friends will gather Friday, December 26, for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. with Pastor Robert Trafford officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Graveside services will follow at Sugar Plains Cemetery in Thorntown, Indiana.
