Robert “Bob” Marion Willhite

Robert “Bob” Marion Willhite, 93, of Lebanon passed away Thursday, February 19th at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon.

Bob was born July 11, 1932 in Aubrey, Arkansas to the late Homer and Bertha (Clark) Willhite. After growing up on the sharecropping cotton fields of Arkansas, Bob served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1954 as a Private First Class stationed in Alaska. After his discharge, he married Jane Evans on July 17, 1955 in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

After relocating to Indiana, Bob worked in numerous capacities and eventually retired from Parker Hannifin. Bob had always had a passion for music and spent most of his life playing guitar in various bands. Additionally, he thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman. His family was very important to him. Bob was a member of the Dover Christian Church.

Survivors include his two sons, Robert M. Willhite Jr. and James Randall “Randy” Willhite, Goodland; brother Donald Willhite of Fayetteville, Arkansas and sister Dale Taylor of Brinkley, Arkansas; grandchildren, Lauren (Eric) Donohue and Zachary Willhite; and great-grandchildren, Madilyn, Samuel, Claire, and Connor Donohue.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Jane; and siblings, George, Carmen, Dorothy, Louise, Charles, Fanny, and Billy.

Family and friends will gather Monday, February 23 for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon with Pastors Steve Jaggers and Shawn Tulley officiating in the Strawmyer and Drury Mortuary, 2400 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon.

Bob will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
