Ray Borden passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25th, 2025, surrounded by his adopted family and friends.
Born on May 8th, 1958, in Indianapolis, Ray spent much of his life doing what he loved — working with his hands and helping others. He was a skilled mechanic for Goodyear and Midas before later driving dump trucks and semis for several local companies.
Ray loved fishing, playing cards, horses, and traveling the world. He was known for his big heart and the way he made everyone feel like family.
He is survived by his adopted family: Cory and Courtney Duff (aka: niece), Brayton Duff, Abbi Duff (Wyatt), Patty (David) Johnson, and Kenny Johnson.
Other family includes Deborah Borden; his children, Jeremy (Sarah) Borden and Jennifer (VanHoy) Borden; and four grandchildren: Emily, Carson, Ava, and Codey. He is also survived by his cousin, Dennis Wallsmith.
Ray was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lucille Wallsmith.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
