Patricia Gay Young

Patricia Gay Young, 80, of Lebanon, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. She was born August 8, 1945, in Sandusky, OH, a daughter of the late Clifford L. and Sarah C. Hampton. 

Pat graduated from Lebanon High School with the class of 1963. She married the love of her life, Roy Melvin Young, Jr. on December 12, 1964. Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a special friend to many.

Pat was employed at Wabash Life after graduation, and then started a career of over 40 years with the Lebanon Utilities, from August 21, 1967 until her retirement on March 23, 2010.

Survivors include her husband, Roy; son, Mike (Amy) Young; daughter, Karen (Dave) Merritt; grandchildren, Matt (Madeline) Young, Jacob Young, and Nick Merritt; great grandchildren, Asher and Liam Young; and brother, Paul (Wanda) Hampton. 

For many years, Pat was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was saved and we know we shall all meet again. 

Family and friends will gather Friday, January 23, for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Wright officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Pat will be laid to rest at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon.
