With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Mark Douglas Hancock, who departed this life peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on July 23, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on May 10, 1970, Mark was a lifelong resident of Boone County, Indiana, where he lived a life marked by devotion, compassion, and an adventurous spirit that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Mark was a dedicated member of the former Whitestown Volunteer Fire Department, serving his community with commitment and pride. A passionate advocate for the Second Amendment, he was an avid firearms enthusiast who enjoyed refining his skills at the shooting range. Mark also found joy in playing baseball and softball, as well as embracing the outdoors through camping and various forms of recreation. Above all, he cherished his role as a devoted father and grandfather, leaving an enduring legacy through his three daughters and four grandchildren.
Mark is survived by his daughters, Alexus Smithes (Phil Mueller), Daphne Hancock, and Trinity Hancock; his grandchildren, Alivia Mueller, Dominic Ottinger, Brooklyn Mueller, and Cayne Mueller; his brother, Mike Hancock, (Cheryl Hancock), and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John and Susan Hancock, with whom he is now reunited in eternal rest.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced by the family. In accordance with his wishes, Mark’s ashes will be spread in the woods on the family farm. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
