Margaret Fay Smith, 92, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born July 22, 1933, in Indianapolis; a daughter of the late Nathaniel Fred Owens Sr. and Addie Mae (Thomas) Owens.
On August 10, 1951, she married Kenneth Lee Smith in Lebanon. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2010.
Margaret spent several summers selling concessions at Pendleton Pike Drive-In and also worked as a waitress at Wheelers Restaurant on Pendleton Pike.
She was a loving member of Mechanicsburg Christian Church. Margaret enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping, tending to her flowers, and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed.
Survivors include her children, Michael L. (Vickie) Smith, of Lebanon, Patricia L. (David) Hunter of Lebanon, Diane F. Conn (Phil Waltz) of Shelbyville, and Linda K. Smith of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nephew, Rusty Owens of California.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Owens.

Visitation is planned from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6th at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at Union Lutheran Cemetery in Whitestown, Indiana.
