Linda Hoffman, 70, of Indianapolis, died January 24, 2025 at her residence in Indianapolis surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 25, 1954 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, one of ten children of the late Robert W. and Marjorie (Peck) Hoffman. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1972 and earned a BSN from the Ball State University in 1976.
Linda was a nurse for 24 years at Indiana University Health Medical Center in Indianapolis until 2006 when she became the school nurse at Granville Wells Elementary until her retirement in 2022. She truly loved helping the students and staff with all of their ailments. Sometimes they just needed a hug.
Her faith was very important to her and she faithfully read her devotions daily
and supported many charitable organizations. She was an avid runner having participated in many half marathons across the country. Her hobbies included being an avid reader, gardening, walking and running at Eagle Creek with her sisters and brother-in-law and spending as much time as possible with her family and friends.
Aunt Linda often attended her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews school activities and sporting events. Forty-three years ago, she took her oldest nephew to Disney on Ice which turned into a family tradition with her many nieces and nephews along with their children.
Linda is survived by her siblings, Suzan (Brent) Hussong of Nashville, Indiana, Marilyn Hoffman of Lebanon, Carolyn (David) Miller of Lebanon, Jody (Larry) Christiansen
of Modesto, California, Pamela (Steve) Taylor of Jamestown, Richard (Jennifer) Hoffman of West Chicago, Illinois, and Stephanie (Chuck) Hunt of Lebanon; sister-in-law, Carol Hoffman of Noblesville and brother-in-law, Michael Ellis of Dallas, Texas; fifteen nieces and nephews and twenty great nieces and nephews along with her many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by brother Robert William Hoffman, Jr. and sister Julia Ellis.
Family and friends will gather on Friday, January 31 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Strawmyer and Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 319 E. South Street, Lebanon, Indiana 46052. Linda will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lebanon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 2345 W 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46260.
