Lebanon Fire Called Out On Garage Fire

At approximately 10:06 a.m. on April 24th, Lebanon Fire companies, along with Center Township Fire Department and Whitestown Fire Department, were dispatched to 906 Hopkins Rd for reports of a house fire. First on scene Lebanon Police units confirmed reports of a fully involved detached garage fire with fire and damage extending into the residence and multiple adjacent exposures. L213 was the first apparatus on scene and performed a search of the residence. E212 and E222 arrived on scene to perform fire attack, exposure protection and establishing water supply for the incident. Crews on scene were quickly able to stop spread of the fire into the residence and prevent further damage to the adjacent exposures.

Once fire was marked under control, E211 and other crews began overhaul of the residence with Whitestown L272 investigating extension into the adjacent exposures and overhaul of the detached garage. Crews on scene worked with the homeowners to salvage and retrieve valuables and irreplaceable items for the family.

Lebanon Fire Department conducted an origin and cause investigation upon stabilization of the incident. The fire originated in the detached garage and was determined to be accidental. Due to damage to the garage, cause is undetermined. The investigation is closed at this time.

There were no occupants in the residence at the time of the fire and no injuries to civilians or working crews at this incident.
