Hilebrand-Martins Sportsmanship Award Winner

Congratulations to LHS Freshman Boys Volleyball player Bernardo Hilebrand-Martins! 

Bernardo received an IHSAA Face of Sportsmanship pin for his outstanding display of sportsmanship, as recognized by officials at the Brownsburg Volleyball Invitational this past Saturday.

Officials Matthew Mickels stated in the IHSAA Exemplary report, “In a match against Peru High School, Bernardo exhibited great sportsmanship. There was a question as to whether there was a touch on an attack. Instead of leaving any doubt, Bernardo confirmed to the R1 that he indeed did touch the ball. Additionally, he also was forthright about a net violation. Often, I've seen kids not say anything in order to gain a point. Barnardo was a good teammate and an honest competitor. I wanted to make sure that this did not go unnoticed.”
