Hamilton County Sheriff Investigation Fatal Crash

The Hamilton County Sheriffs Office is currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred Thursday morning in Sheridan. The crash occurred at E. First St. and S. Georgia St. The Sheridan Police Department was investigating a stolen vehicle, when a traffic stop was initiated by Sheridan Police Department, the suspect then fled the traffic stop and started a pursuit. Sheridan PD briefly lost sight of the vehicle during the pursuit and then located it crashed in Veteran’s Park, north of the intersection of E. First St. and S. Georgia St. on the north side of Sheridan. Sheridan Officers immediately called for Sheridan Fire and rendered aid to the driver. The driver of the vehicle died due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team is leading the fatal crash investigation at the request of the Sheridan Police Department. Next of kin of the deceased has been notified.
