Gladys Pauline “Polly” Davids, 63, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born November 22, 1961, in Boone County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Ernest Eugene and Mary Louise (Corwin) Lewis.

Polly was a great friend and family member that would go above and beyond to help those that she loved. She would never hesitate to sacrifice her time, money, and energy if it meant that she could help ease the personal and financial struggles of those around her.

In her later years she was blessed with being able to provide care to a man, Paul, who she later journaled about and described as her “hero and keeper” and her “second Dad”. Paul gave Polly a personal and career purpose that she cherished. Paul was not just a man that she took care of but an integral part of Polly’s life.

Polly had many different jobs in her lifetime, but the job that she took the most pride in was that of “Grandma”. She loved her grandchildren with every ounce of her being and loved to be the one to always be able to have a snack in her purse for them after a ball game, take them out for the dinner of their choice, or provide them with anything and everything they would ever want if it was in her power to do so. Polly fought a long hard battle with cancer, and she fought as hard as she could so she could spend as much time on this earth with her grandchildren as possible.

In Polly’s journal she wrote “God, thank you for life itself and my granddaughters are my life. Lilly and Nora, I love them to the moon and back.”

Polly, Mom, Grandma…. You will be forever loved and missed.

Survivors include her sons, Robbie Dean (LeeAnn) Criswell and Trevor (Amanda) Davids; grandchildren, Lilly Davids and Nora Davids; sister, Marcia J. Nance; brothers, Ernest “Ernie” E. (Teresa) Lewis, Jr., and Daniel E. (George Ann) Lewis; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by a brother, Richard J. “Rick” Lewis.

No Services are planned at this time. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
