On July 28, 2025, at approximately 6:41 pm, a Clinton County EMS employee reported a reckless driver northbound on Jackson from Fairground St. A Frankfort PD officer was monitoring EMS/Fire radio channels and heard the report. Simultaneously listening to the broadcast, the officer saw the suspect vehicle traveling an estimated 80-85 mph through a red light at Armstrong St. The officer activated his emergency lights and attempted to catch up to the vehicle. The suspect struck another vehicle and turned east on Walnut. At that time a pursuit was called out.
The pursuit continued east on Walnut, through the Goodwill, Travel Inn and church parking lots, south on Maish towards Kelley Rd/150 S. The suspect turned east on Kelley Rd. From there it would turn south into a bean field near 400 E causing considerable damage to the crop. The suspect then went into a corn field causing more damage to the crop.
Once inside the cornfield, the vehicle came to a stop. The officers created a perimeter and utilized Clinton County Sheriff's Office and Indiana Department of Natural Resources drones to locate the suspect.
