Donald E. “Don” Sloan

Donald E. “Don” Sloan, 83, of Lebanon, died Thursday, April 2.  Don was born May 3, 1942 in Frankfort, Indiana, the son of the late Norman W. “Bud” and Thelma (Wright) Sloan.  He was a graduate of the Perry Central High School and married Beverly Sue Edwards on December 8, 1962. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2005.

 

Don owned and operated the Sloan Agency in Lebanon for fifty-one years. He was a member of the Ulen Country Club and enjoyed playing golf for many years. Don was a salesman’s salesman finding success starting with selling Electrolux Vacuums from 1965-1975 having won many sales awards. He applied the same effort into his insurance agency and enjoyed working with his wife and son. 

 

Survivors include his children, Bret Sloan of Lebanon, Sean Sloan of Noblesville and Chad (Lynette) Sloan of Brownsburg; grandchildren, Alivia and Corban Sloan; brothers, Larry (Mary) Sloan of Lebanon and William “Bill” Sloan of Indianapolis; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Vickie) Edwards of Lebanon and sister-in-law, Kellie (Tom) Arendt of Daleville, Alabama. 

 

Private graveside services are scheduled in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon. Memorial contributions in Don’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
