Death Of Inmate Under Investigation

On February 3, 2026, at approximately 3:20 AM, corrections officers located an unresponsive female inmate in a single holding cell. Emergency medical services were requested. Despite efforts by personnel on scene, the inmate was pronounced deceased.

The inmate has been identified as Brittany Moore, 33, of Indianapolis. Moore was booked into the Boone County Jail on February 2nd at approximately 7 PM. Moore was being held on charges of resisting law enforcement and possession of marijuana.

Moore’s family was notified in person by members of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Administration. The death of Moore is currently under investigation.
